Fitchburg Center is a
development with a difference. It's about
planning and creating a community with a 50 to 100 year time horizon, respecting
the environment around us, and creating spaces where people can interact with
each other and nature. Fitchburg Center is committed to a quality of life
for all residents.
Since its inception in 1983, partners William A. Linton
and Johan Bjorksten had a reverence for the land that is now called Fitchburg
Center. Their vision was to foster and create a vital community where
residents could live, learn, work and play. With a commitment to the
environment and quality design guiding the way, the partnership combined with a
world-class development team to turn their vision into reality. Today the
partners, covenants, associations, and a development review committee protect
and guide this vision as it becomes reality. Business and retail sites
relate directly to the existing contours and natural topography of the land so
that the buildings actually become an integral
part of the landscape. Housing sites are clustered leaving vast tracts of
open space for all to enjoy. Pedestrian and bike friendly pathways help to
further define and connect this area for residents. Community
facilities and amenities provide needed "crossroads" and public
gathering places to visit with neighbors, learn and celebrate. The result
is more than a collection of buildings, as seen in many developments today, but
rather a healthy, vibrant and integrated community.
